Ok, I lied.
I did not look forward to the trip simply because I did not have time to think about it. There are just so many things to do.
It is the "work..work..work..how I.. you fill up the rest.
But I can't deny the fact that the the thing that excite me the most is the night train.
My last night train was when I in Standard 2. That was 1980 and that is 35 years ago!
My family makes occasional trip to Singapore and at that time we went there the whole family.
My late Bapak (father) works in KTM so trains is synonymous with us. He got discounted fares too.
When it comes to family trips my Mak (mother) makes sure that we are fed well. There will be at least one big canvas bag dedicated to carry our mangkuk tingkat, thermos flask, plates and utensils.
And I can still remember the smell, colour and the taste of the special fried chicken that she cooked. I am sure that she marinated the chickens with turmeric, salt, and she might have used coriander as well. Nobody does it better!
And I can still remember the moment in the bunk bed when she opened the mangkuk tingkat showing the drumstick!
Ok, back to this moment.
The train at our KL Sentral departure station arrived a bit late. As usual I bought some foodstuff (as if I'm gonna starve there). Also McDonalds as my bekalan in case the buffet coach have nothing appealing.
Our coach is L8 and it was towards the head section. So there was a bit of walking. Not to mention slight moment of panic when the L8 door was locked. But we managed to get on board just fine.
And here I am..

All set and ready to go!
I'll give you a peek on the coach ya.

A little crowded with the bags |

Without me |
I was surprised as I thought it is bigger. But my friend said, maybe it is us that got bigger!

Just for you to have a feel of the size of the bed |
But this is fine, there is a surau, toilet is just 4 metres away and if you look beyond the basic facilities, it was not too bad.
Will stop here. Time to explore the train.
Signing off,
